La poesía española tiene una tradición extensa en la que fluyen con tranquilidad 500 años y más. Autores que han desarrollando sus propias técnicas y otros que han copiado. En la que convergen poetas recordados con mucho respeto como Luis de Góngora, Quevedo, Antonio Machado, Federico García Lorca y otros.
En la actualidad existe un poeta español que se abre paso como un pez entre las redes de los pescadores. Con un profundo estilo y muy verdadero el poeta Hugo Izarra se une a la tradición literaria. Nació en Vigo en 1980 y realizó estudios de Ciencias de la Comunicación en Madrid. Por un tiempos se dedicó al periodismo social y cultural. En los últimos años, comparte sus vida con la literatura y con su trabajo como redactor en un gabinete de comunicaciones, a la vez que actualizando su blog personal.
Ha publicado, con un seudónimo, los poemarios Eyacula, que algo queda, Gominolas para los patos y La soledad es una puta con dientes de oro, además de la novela inédita Prohibido tirar de la anilla.

En la actualidad, trabaja en su último libro de poemas: Manual de primeros exilios. Material que esperamos ver en las librerías en pocos meses.
En sus versos encontramos influencia de autores como Ernesto Cardenal y Charles Boukowsky, aunque con un toque tan personal que sus influencias poco a poco van dejando terreno ante un Izarra cada vez más vigoroso.
Su trabajo es elogiado por diversas personas, desde críticos literarios, poetas, lectores, hasta personas sin apetito literario. Algo muy difícil en estos tiempos en que la mayoría de escritores pretenden llegar sólo a los amantes de las letras. En cambio Izarra, hasta el momento, ha logrado colarse y competir con otras lecturas.

Encontré el blog de Hugo a principios de este año y, aunque estabamos en lugares distintos, te llamé para contarte que había encontrado un poeta, y tú sabes que cuando me refiero a uno es porque me ha tocado profundamente... luego me respondiste...¡sí, es muy bueno! Y, desde entonces,Hugo se tornó en un hilo que reinició nuestras conversaciones.
Este español,me parece, ante todo, un ser humano auténtico, sin el andamiaje falso tan común en los "poetas" actuales. Y la verdad en la poesía es la columna vertebral que la sostiene. Lo demás, seguirá siendo pura palabrería.
Por eso nos gusta tanto a los dos, saludos Mauricio.
